Dear
Friends,
Summer is in full swing, no pun
intended, and the course looks great. If you
know me you'll know I never stand in one place
for too long but I have to tell you the other
day I stood for a moment on the deck of The
Greens and gazed out across the course to admire
the fresh cross-cut grass, the planted flowers,
the stacked wood, and in everything my eyes fell
upon I saw the faces of the hard working men and
women behind the scenes that make all of this...
this beautiful paradise... possible everyday.
For all of us here at Copake, what we do is not
just a job, I believe it is what we love to do
and I hope it shows.
I would like you to
enjoy Copake Country Club and The Greens with
your friends and family just as I enjoy having
you a part of it.
Cheers! ~Jon

Number
9... Number 9...
It's
new... and some of you may have already found
yourself in it... a bunker on number nine.
Glenn, our humble yet totally awesome executive
chef, was telling me last week how he was
trapped twice even
before the sand trap was complete. Pictured at
right is a photo of the trap as it was built,
in-progress. We'd love to hear your stories.
Good Luck!
Greener
Greens We aren't trying to
make waves, we're just doing what comes
naturally. Being green, reducing our carbon
footprint, has been a part of who we are. Look
around... the flower beds provide much of the
color in arrangements on the dinner tables and
they are pesticide free. The native grasses
certainly make the course more picturesque but
those areas don't need to be mowed which in turn
reduces our need for more gas and oil. The wood
stacked along the course perimeter used to fuel
the dining room fireplace, and the fire pits
scattered about the course, too, comes from
fallen trees when our grounds crew thin the wood
lines. And last but not least, our food...
 Back in May we talked
about being a locavore. The Greens has used
locally grown produce and meats in many of the
dishes offered on the menus, supporting
community agriculture since we opened. Not only
do our local farmers and producers benefit, but
so do you. Your food is as fresh as it gets, and
fresh food is healthy food. Not to mention there
is less drive time which equals less emissions.
There is also a garden on the 14th where Glenn
and "G" get yellow squash, cherry tomatoes,
basil, and so much more in the dishes served.
Look! There's Jon stealing
vegetables!
Check the menus on the
website here. The Greens is open
everyday for lunch and dinner and brunch on
Sunday. Live entertainment on Saturday nights
and for Sunday brunch, schedule can be found here. Reservations
are strongly recommended for every night of the
week.

Breakfast
To-Go For
all you diehard early golfers out on the links
with the rising sun, start your day off right.
We now serve egg sandwiches Saturdays and
Sundays, from 6am - 10am, cooked fresh to order
in the new Snack Shack at the 1st and 10th tee.
Burgers, dogs, chips, snacks, and drinks, both
alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are also available
from 10am til 4pm.
There's
an App for That? Seems most people have
smart phones that can do everything but cook you
dinner. Now you can actually use your phone to
help with your golf game at Copake. Golf Logix
claims to be the ultimate golf GPS rangefinder.
The app, once you download it onto your phone
(there is a free trial version but if you are
serious enough about golf you will have to pay
to subscribe), will help track your game, know
your distance for every shot, and a lot more.
Check it out here and try it at Copake
next time you
golf.
